30-Day Challenge, Day 01

Today I thought I’d start a 30-day challenge to paint every day for November. Today’s newsletter from Austin Kleon encourages us to practice every day and build a body of work over a set period by breaking things down to one thing a day. It doesn’t seem like that big of a deal to try to create at least one painting per day. This challenge isn’t about mastering something but more about sucking less at that activity.

So how did day one go? OK, small sketchbook studies exploring colour pairs, they’re still paintings, though. My enthusiasm led me to expand out to larger sheets. I’m aware I’m only supposed to create one painting daily, but exploring is fun.
