This is an excellent book from a photographic documentary point of view. Between 1963 and 67, Danny Lyon was a member of the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club. This book is full of great images taken over that period and serves as a brilliant recording. The book also features stories and dialogue from the same period.
Many interviews and conversations are presented verbatim. While this is a great piece of journalism, I found it very hard to read. My dyslexia probably didn’t help. Usually, after a few pages, I can slip into a book’s appropriate tone and language, but not so with this publication. However, it’s a brilliant book that celebrates motorcycle culture.
