Co-Intelligence: Living and Working with AI

Ethan Mollick

This is a straightforward read if you want to acquire a basic understanding of AI—where it came from, what it is and where it may be heading. Ethan Mollick stays away from details, the real science and engineering that goes into AI, but the book is none the weaker for that. I think it provides a good introduction to approaching how to work with AI, both how and where it may be beneficial. The author also highlights some of the current weaknesses of AI.

I found this a useful book to help reframe my thoughts on AI as a coworker. This is a good first step into understanding AI without the hypobolism found within mainstream media.
