Judging by the title of this book, I expected a self-help-type publication; as such, I skipped over previous recommendations. While listening to two of my favourite podcasters, Sean Tucker and Jeffery Saddoris, on an episode of Deep Natter, I decided to take a chance on this title.
This publication is more about philosophy, specifically Adlerian Psychology. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 19th-century psychology alongside Freud and Jung, the authors explain how we are all free to determine our own future, free of the shackles of past experiences, doubts and the expectations of others.
The Courage to Be Disliked is a highly logic-oriented look at happiness and life. The book is written and presented as a conversation between a philosopher and a youth, which makes it a joy to read.
